Brian spent a few months tearing it apart and rebuilding it into a fully functional camper van that we have used for short and long trips around the country.  In this original, Love Shack van, our longest time on the road was 33 days.  We originally bought the van to travel to music festivals (Mountain Jam, Bonnaroo) and local shows (Meadowbrook, Boston, Bangor, etc), but quickly discovered that we really enjoyed life on the road and discovering new state parks and great camping spots.

It was very easy to travel and live in this van. We had a full size futon with custom storage below; plenty of cabinets, cubbies, and nets to store anything we might need. There was an ice-box, foot pump sink, chemical toilet, portable shower, and all of the cooking essentials including a propane stove and small gas grill. We also had a CLAM screen house that is easy to set up and take down, and this is where we spent a lot of bug-free evenings, enjoying music, food and whatever. The van was always equipped with camp chairs, a small table and a hammock for lazy afternoon naps.

Because the van was a “normal” size, it was not only easy to drive, it was easy to park – anywhere. We slept in the van in city parking lots, or pulled it off into a field. We recommend state parks – the campsites are usually big and private and they offer clean restrooms, hot showers and lots of hiking & biking trails.
Our second van

In 2018 we bought an empty Sprinter cargo van and started from scratch to build our new, tiny home. You can follow our travels through our blog posts on this site and check us out on Facebook here https://www.facebook.com/mainecampervanrentals.
